Well the final upgrade (by orders from girlfriend) is close to finished. Started out a few months ago with a 35 gallon. Within a week knew that the 65 had to be the next one so I moved everything. Last week I found a nice 110 so I built a cabinet to house the 65 as a sump/fuge and moved everything again.

Well the stain is on, lights are installed and live stock is settling in. Just need to get things growing now.

I like the hobby MUCH better now that I have the tank drilled. I sleep better at night knowing that I won't dump 165 gallons on the 4 apartments below me. lol
Thanx to Thefragtank.ca I enjoy everything about saltwater. You guys have supplied many laughs (and help) as I learn.

I couldn't work up the nerve to drill it myself so thanx to Gary at Sealife Central. There are 2 one inch drains and 1 one inch return. The drains are off set so one acts more as an emergency drain. With the extra drain I don't have to worry about an overflow box. I need to get some black plexi glass and finish the job but for now they are at least operational.

I would think they would be prone to sucking up small fish without a screen on them.  (look at us all bashing your overflows!)  ;D

If yu go to kees pets in Detroit.  They have frag tanks. In the store. With centre of tank drains. There tanks are 12 inch deep. There is a pipe up to water level thru the centre hole  The drain water is just running down into that pipe. And it's like a whirlpool  but yu could cut slats like the overflows have in a cap and put on that straight pipe on top of elbow ?

No noise at all. I have the down pipes submerged in the first chamber of the sump. The elbows have screen in them so that nobody can make a fast exit to the sump. I tried the pipe with slits cut in it but wasn't too happy with the DIY look. As I said. I need to finish it off with black plex for the look and preferred water level.

OK. I didn't mind you guys picking my tank apart but now I have to worry about you telling my wife about my girl friend and I suppose you'll probably tell my girl friend about my mistress. Now it has gone too far!
