Ready to throw this thing out the window.

Got it over a year ago tested my water a few times at that point and it read 0.00 every time.

I was skeptical as to the accuracy of the results.

Pulled it out again this morning and did another test and the same thing 0.00.

I am now out of reagent and don't want to waste money buying more if the damn thing doesn't work.

I can't believe my tank has phosphate levels that low, I haven't been doing much to control it

I know there was a recall on the reagent a while back but mine was not part of that lot number, and the expiry on them wasn't until January 2018.

I found myself wasting reagent often and having to start all over because it's such a pita to get all of the the reagent into the vile. (It's all but impossible going straight from the package into the vile, and only slightly easier using a folded piece of wax paper or a funnel.)

As funny as it sounds all I want is to see an actual number pop up other than 0.00, that way I'll know it's working at least.

Can I doctor the sample with soap or something to boost the levels and verify the damn thing's working?

well, the thing seems to be working! I got some new reagent and tested the tank again -- 0.00 I added a bit of melt water from a mysis cube into the test tube again , waited a minute or so (it had a visible blue hue to it) it tested 0.99. so I assume the algae in the tank is consuming it as fast as it's produced, and the levels are below what the 713 can pickup. not a bad thing I guess
