I am planning an 84x30x24 240gal inwall mixed reef, help me decide which overflow.
I am going with Modular Marine and my choices are
3600GPH, 36"weir https://modularmarine.com/collectio...-low-profile-overflow-box-with-removable-weir
3000GPH, 30" weir https://modularmarine.com/collectio...-low-profile-overflow-box-with-removable-weir
2400GPH, 24" weirhttps://modularmarine.com/collectio...-low-profile-overflow-box-with-removable-weir
Or possibly 2 x 1200GPH or 2 x 1600GPH But I doubt I would do 2.
Just looking for some thoughts, opinions, experiences.

Id go with the reefsavy one personally. Whatever one you choose if you order it to my address I can add it onto the tank no problem?

Why reefsavy?
I like the fact that the internal box is removable on the modular marine

I would suggest going with single 3600gph units. its easier to run less flow thru a unit then trying to run it at it's max and Balancing 2 bean animal overflows is going to be a pain in the ass. here's a neat little calculator that will show that the maximum flow rate at full siphon for your return plumbing.

It won’t be difficult to balance them. Overflows are based off of water input so very simple to control the flow through an overflow. Add a ball valve onto all bulkheads. I think the reef savy 2000 looks sleek

it requires adobe flash to run its about 3/4 of the way down the page. if you run the calculations with 3' of head height and 1.5"dia pipe the drain pipe can handle over 4500gph. A external overflow box it is restricted by the hole size from the tank to the box because its not running a siphon at that point.

And with 1" dia pipe.

I went with two straight pipes, one dry, one on drains with gate valves on each side. I -think- they are all 1" to keep the system narrow against the wall. By the way they leak, I think Garry built them himself ;)

That said, they work fine, I rarely have to adjust the flow to either side once they're set, if they make noise then something needs attention (socks/screens etc).
