Gfo, Bio Pellet Or Carbon?

Yeah saltyair, totally, the np biopellets i got recently also reduce phos. I usually just adjust how much gfo i run if po4 gets too low.

My nitrates are zero, phosphates at 0.03 ppm. Im also a heavy feeder lol. Skimmer does its job.

OH YEAH, does the OP have a skimmer? If not, then biopellets are a no go. You need a skimmer to export the converted proteins resulting from biopellet usage. Same with nitraguard cubes for example.

I have seen them. Mostly for smaller systems IMHO. The same would be a 1/3 tlf 150 with carbon, then a sponge to hold it down, then add 1/3 gfo.

I have them on a 180 and 75 sump system they are the second best investment I've made

Yea took a bit to get them dialed (gph) but they are really working as advertised. I use to run gfo (expensive kind) and carbon dosing vinegar. I was constantly battling cyano, ph and alk fluctuations.
I added a dose of bacteria and within 2 weeks my po4 .04 and no3 was less than 5 and has been steady since. I have been running them for over 6 months.
You must have a skimmer.

I'd use it for either GFO or Carbon, not both, You can hook up two inline with valves to control the flow, I know people are gonna say I'm wrong but running Pellets in a Phos 150 doesn't work real good, Just to Clarify it doesn't go in the Fuge area and I think you're better of with a Fuge than Pellets but if you do decide on the Pellets do some more research on the effects of them. HTH

These are the same pellets i was looking at on alibaba. they were willing to ship me 25 bags to me, but for me that was overkill i wouldnt use that amount before the expired. If enough people wanted to order them, the shipping distribution across many would make it worth the price. i believe these retail for something like 30 bucks a bag so with shipping and cdn conversion that would be 18 bucks a bag

Yup, scroll back on thread for pics of NP pellets, they are pearls, aio are dark pellets...look like rabbit food.
