So the power at my house went out the other night... I know I should have a generator... I don't know if it is directly related or not but probably is.
Anyways woke up this morning to something being obviously wrong with my tank. All mushrooms were shriveled up to almost nothing with all their tentacles out. Xenia were withering. Everything was closed up... tube worms were spitting up, looked like a war zone. So after the intial panic wore off it was time to get up off my knees and figure out what had happened. After all the test were done and came back good it was time to start breaking down the system. Took all equipment out, and when it came down to taking out one of my two heaters it was discovered. The heater had literally blown up and melted. Still plugged in and still shocking the system. Not enough were I could feel it when reaching in the tank so thats good.
So with the heater out I did a 20% water change, put all equipment back in the tank and started her up. Dosed a lot of carbon and thats were Im at.
Had to go off to work and leave my baby at home lol... so lets just say Ill be anxious to get home in the morning.
Dont knwo what will make it, all fish looked good, but every coral looked very stressed. Only time will tell, and time couldnt be going slow enough.

so sorry to hear, i had a problem with my RKL today or last night, no lights today and tank dropped to 70 degrees, not to major.
the voltage in your tank shouldn't be too harmful, it takes current to do damage, however, the ionic balance may be way off, which would cause stress to corals, try to stabilize tank slowly as sudden changes will cause more stress.
the animals are pretty hardy and should survive,
best of luck
