When setting up a separate Frag Tank System, Is it required to run a skimmer as well?

I say yes.

But I guess it all depends on what you're planning on keeping in there. SPS or softies and LPS.

Also depends if you're planning on having the same cleaning schedule as your display.

I do but if you dont you will have to do alot more water changes

I have little experience, particularly in the frag tank dept. but i just bought a used skimmer for my frag tank.
