So I am looking for help with suggestions for stocking my aquarium.

Current inhabitants:

1 purple tang
1 yellow tang
1 female lyretail anthias
3 domino damsels
3 blue damsels
3 three stripe damsels
2 blue green chromis
mated pair of coral banded shrimp
10 or so peppermint shrimp (rarely see them)
1 purple lobster (he has a small cave he hides in all the time)
1 large clam (Maxima if I recall)
various snails and hermits

To be honest, if the damsels went away I wouldn't shed a tear. They are just too hard to catch to remove, but if something was introduced and ate them I wouldn't care. The two tangs are pretty large, both are about 5" or so, and the lyretail is a solid 4" the damsels are all roughly 2-3" and are mean little bastards.

I am looking for colorful options that are open swimmers, the more peaceful the better, but obviously must be able to hold their own. There isn't a TON of open real estate on the floor of the tank as my rockwork takes up most of it.

Flame Wrasses are very nice! Especially a harem of them. They do run $100 a pop though generally. If you are solely SPS now, a Regal Angel would be a very nice addition! A stunning fish and not overly pricey. I would add another Tang or 2 as well. A Hippo tang for sure. They just glow blue in the tank. A Naso tang is all ways good for keeping bubble algae, etc in check. Also, Flame Angels are very nice. All the fish above are reefsafe.. Minus the Regal if you still have LPS...

I would get some more larger algae eaters like tangs....as mentioned above, a blue hippo and blonde naso would be excelleny additions...perhaps even a sailfin.....im surprised u dont have any clowns....a nice mated pair of deaigners really makea any reef tank look nice. Also if you are only sps then maybe consider a foxface as well because they are vicious algae eaters but can nip at lps. Perhaps a wrasse or two as well.....like a melanrus.... the mystery wrasse and sixline are nice but can become very aggressive and mean.  Do not get any clown gobies if you got sps.....i was gonna post this fish up as my fave in that other thread....i had two and they are really cool especially when they hide amongst the sps branches....unfortunately they like to hide amongst sps so they can attack the polyps!
If you didnt already have a yt and pt then i would have suggested them too but good choice there. Personally i would add like 3 more tangs and maybe even a foxface (if sps only) because down the road these fish are great for keeping algae under control. Not to mention they will add a good bioload to your tank which should be ulns if doing sps only.

I have been searching for a decent sized healthy hippo tang for quite some time now to no avail. I do actually have a pair of clownies in my tank. I forgot about them originally. Just two regular clowns. One I got for free. lol.

First of all get rid of the Damn sels Use a hook or a trap or something, Then forget the Copperbanded Shrimp, they'll eat your other shrimp, Not sure about the Lobster either. Anyway A Lieutenant Tang or Blonde Naso or even a Coral Beauty, Wrasses are beautiful fish, Your tank is big enough for two Yellow Tangs and get a Fox Face great Algea eaters and are passive until they are picked on Another one is a Kole Tang. Fantastic Algea Eaters.

take a piece of food in a cereal bowl and your net, the damsels will go into the bowl, use your net to cover.  get rid of your damsels, they eat too much, are aggressive and create a lot of unnecessary bio load on your tank.  double up with the yellow tangs, they look sweet together and get 3 or 4 more anthias, they school together inopen water. they are meant to be that way. leave purple solitary. you may want to remove him to a sump or something for a week as you introduce the new yellow tank. then put him back in.
