So my purple tang I noticed has gotten very aggressive lately. And I guess it has gotten even worse since i took out my blue tang and the yellow hogfish or whatever it was. He has been alone in the tank for 3 weeks and I just reintroduced a clown that was sick and has now recovered the tang started attacking it. Why is this happening have I dug my own grave by leaving him in there alone and making him think he is king. I don't wanna sell the fish but feel as if though I may have to

You should be able to fix it by taking him out for a while and put other fish in then re introducing him

When I added a second scopa tang the first went nuts on him. I found feeding seaweed really helped lower the aggression in the tank.

Purple Tangs are quite aggressive. Definitely don't want it to be one of the first fish in your tank. All ways start with the shy ones first and add the more aggressive fish last. Tangs are actually very territorial.

I would take him out and add the clown, then in a few weeks add him back in.

Try and find a tank to hold him on for now, or it will be hard for you to add any other fish to the tank. What size tank is your display?

bummer, it's best to research before adding anything, for this reason. Like said above, adding the least aggressive fish first, then onto to the most aggressive, last.

I've found that my powder blue tangs don't seem that aggressive when they are the last ones in - also, it helps when they are on the small side.  When I introduced my regal angel, my PBT (who had shown no signs of aggression), suddenly when nuts.  Luckily I got him out and sold him to another reefer.  I've since added another PBT, and it too has been fine up until this point.  However, as it grows, it is now starting to show a bit of moxie to my YT.  And I can promise that a new fish, or fish that had been removed or reintroduced, would be in trouble if tossed in the tank.  Your only option really is to take out the tang and then throw him back in after a period of time, or take your other fish out and sell it.  Otherwise, you may end up with a fatality.

I think I might just have to sell it and start over fish wise it is by choice obviously. I guess as long as it goes to a good home it shouldn't be to bad. My display is a 90 gal he's probaly outgrowing the tank anyways

Maybe worth a try... but maybe stick a mirror on a side of the tank to distract into attacking its own reflection for a while.. I've heard that this sometimes works.

that's exactly what you did. purple tangs need to go in last. if they do, they get picked on but they most always deal with it and stake a claim.
take him out and put him in your sump (if you have one) for 1 week, then re introduce him, you should be fine
