So here is the video. And I posted it to the eheim Fb page too. They ignored emails and don't reply to phone calls.

Wow, that is just nuts. All around nuts. This is actually one of the main reasons that I keep multiple heaters that are all under rated for the tank. If one does this, then the tank will not fry. I am not excusing them, especially after having the recent post about companies and customer service. I am starting to wonder where it all went. Good to see you caught it.

Will keep you posted gents. It is ridiculous hence why I'm posting on here. Let's see how they treat this I warned them I would post on public forums to review thier customer service process.

It was submerged to the line in the sump. I have another video I made showing it completely submerged in 120 degree water and it stays on. If they don't get back to me, so be it my video will stay posted. If they fix it I'll post another video showing they fixed my concern and remove the current one.

How long has it been since you tried to contact them?
Since Early last week. Then messaged through their Facebook page.
No harm thought my 55 gallon drum in garage partially froze over. So I put the Eheim in their it'll definitely keep that water from freezing lol. So it has a use just not in my DT.

Update for the group. ehiem North America has been in contact with me. Nice guy that listened to my concerns and agreed with the German contact information and disconnect with north American customers. They have reviewed the videos that were posted. (YouTube ones that were posted to their fb page) . They spoke with the engineers in Germany and have agreed to send me a new unit and explained their opionion of what may be broken inside the unit.
I spoke with them about some best practice's that may assist with customer service such as including a (do not return call 1800 xxxxx) and they agreed as this is something they do with other products they carry.
I advised them that I would remove my videos and post a new one explaining my story and that they fixed my issue.
In addition they asked me to explain some more details on my in my YouTube channel about the placement and use of the heater. More to follow

I was lucky it happened on Saturday- I would've lost everything also. I have two the other one seems to be fine. Eheim heaters are not what they use to be. Eheim heaters have a to much of a variance one heater is set @ 75 and the other was set @ 81 - my tank reads 79. They are tough to calibrate and way to long and awkward.

Just occured to me alex88 had a jager heater stay on a few weeks ago. Cooked all the shrimp he had imported. I've had 3 marineland heaters and not had a single problem.
