You get $5 off in lieu of free shipping, and $5 off with a time limit if you leave your cart for 24 hours.

I too have just started Dosing, I find my Calcium being depleted faster than water changes. I've got some B-ionic so I'll use that up and I was thinking about continuing with that product but, It's expensive. I used to make it my self using Dow Flake and Baked Baking Soda but I thought I'd try the Reefsupplies method. Buying it in Bulk. I've ordered enough powder to make 5x 1 Gallon jugs of each, Cost was 36 plus 10 for shipping and then Taxes. Total 53.04 Delivered to my door. I think the BA version for Calc. and the Baked Baking Soda would be cheaper and may go that route after words.

So I started with 30 ML of each of the 2 B-ionic products and have noticed a slight rise in my PH, kh unchanged, Calc up from 320-340- I know that's low and my Polyp extension on some of my LPS have been hindered. I'll keep adding 30 and keep testing.

Ya I was talking about it expiring, I got the email Saturday but I'll check to see if it works when I order anyways.

Cool Jewel, ya it was time for me to start dosing too but I waited till after my tank upgrade. I know my calcium is low but I have a dead alk test kit that I'll be ordering refills for (redsea) along with new ca and mag so I can keep on top of everything.

I use bionic too. It's super easy and hassle free. I didn't find it really all that expensive. For its ease of use I think it's worth the extra few bucks. Also it come in a liquid concentrate u just ad rodi water too. Done

I've used the B-ionic for a week now and my Calc is up to 400 and my KH is at 8, That's what I was trying for, Now I'm out of B-ionic. I tried to Order the 2-Part Bulk Powders from Reef Supplies but they don't have it in stock and don't know when they'll get it. I had to order 2x1 Gl Of each and they didn't charge me shipping, I should get it on Monday.

Now I'm gonna go with Big Als 2-Part, I talked to Aaron and he's gonna order it in for me, no shipping charges and we will see how that goes., I've also made arrangement to get 2 Dosers from jerry so I can automate it. It easier as many of you know to spread out the dose over the day or night and yes I plan on Dosing through the night when the PH is at it's lowest.

Any idea what time that would be, Lights out at Midnight would half way through be the lowest or better to spread it out through out the night.  And keep Testing

I'm trying to set up a dosing program on my controller, I was going to do X number of doses times Y minutes a day (24hrs) with a offset of 30min or so (minus the Y variable) but do you think I should be changing to only do calcium during the day then alk at night (12hrs)?

This works well too duke.

Regarding you product jewel I'm not to sure. But I know the BRS they recommend for them not to be mixed together.

I know you don't have controller setup or dosers yet, but after this weekend you could setup like the way duke uses.

Does your product your using right now say to add together?

If so sorry for the mix up :p

That is the way I have my dosers setup.

Bionic says does 3 min apart. I'd dose over the 24 hour period too. More small doses throughout the day = more stable I would think. Why not stick with the bionic? Good product and simple to use. No messing with dry powders and mixing

i used to dose the whole amount of calcium at one time and the dose the alk a couple hours later... levels always seemed fine..

i guess if you have a controller you have the luxury of setting it every other minute lol

B-ionic is expensive unless you can buy it in 5 gal pails, that's not available at this time. The Big als Bicarbonate Sodium for instance makes 12 Gallons and it costs 30 bucks, that should last quite awhile.

My B-ionic ran out, My parcel came from Reef Supplies but I bought enough from Big Als to mix 8 GL of each. I mixed the Calcium portion with no problem but the ALK portion didn't dissolve very good, I keep mixing it up but it won't dissolve. Duh

also its pretty important to fill the container with water then add the alk portion, not the other way around. but with some shaking and like jerry said, get it warm.. those will work.

I did and I am, but next time I'll dissolve half then 3/4 then fill, I've gotta get better jugs too, I'm using old Vinigar bottles, they're flimsy.
