IT really depends on your consumption rates and your system volume. I go through twice as much Calc then Alk so it makes sense

Are you sure the concentrations of each component are the same though? Just because someone is adding 50ml of alk and 100ml of ca does not mean they are actually adding twice the amount of ca as Alk....most likely the case is that the concentration of each additive is different...
Also, an established system will never use alk and ca at the same amount over the same amount of time.... Both are not being used up at the same time together....depending on when you are testing can mean different readings....however, both should be consumed or depleted in approx the same amount over the longer term.... Like for instance 1-2 months.... But in short term you can see one getting used up more than the other only because of what I have mentioned above.

I just don't understand how Mg and K can be depleted that much quicker than alk and Ca in any system.... It honestly just doesn't make sense IMO.... Are you sure they are not just saturating their Mg and K levels?

Yup my concentrations were the same. I know how it goes.

LOL Randy is the shit! Has anyone else noticed that he has been posting a lot on R2R forum lately?

Also, check out some new articles RHF has wrote for an upcoming magazine.... I just read this on r2r. I'm excited to read his Triton testing article....I've been thinking about sending my water away to be tested.....

Wonder how much a mass spectrometer test of a water sample would cost..... would give you complete water chemistry accurate ppb not ppm

Good point but I'm not sure if it is on the top of NASAs to do list.... ;)

Check out this thread. Triton Reef Test Group Buy, they use an "Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emmission Spectrometry analysis (ICP-OES) to literally rip molecules apart with plasma that is heated to 10,000 degrees Kelvin for analysis" Not bad for the price :)

Well Triton is only like $50.... I don't really think testing to the ppb is required anyways....seems like most things we measure are easily measured in ppm
I'm hoping we can get enough ppl to order 12 tests so then it's even less.... Helps when you might wanna order 2—3 tests...
