Dc pumps

Currently I have 4 Dart pumps ruining my system and considering switching to the new DC pumps.

Seems like the waveline and Jabeo 12000 models should produce similar flows to my darts.  Has anyone used both for a comparison?  Seems the Jabeo is lower cost but then see the waveline prices coming down on some websites.  And has anyone used them as an external pump?

Second major question has anyone measured the actual AC power consumption?  Obviously a major reason I am considering these is for energy savings.

The jebao 12000 are internal only.
Waveline 12000 states internal/external

people are using them externally tho.. they are the same pumps

Did some further searching on the web and I'm kind of surprised.  Reef builders review of the new wave line
12,000 pump lists the wattage at maximum of 180w. The reflow website lists but dart at an average of 145w.  So if that is the case my darts are more effective than the DC pumps at producing high flow.

i replaced a reeflo snapper with the DC12000, im happy with the change and consider it an upgrade, it outflows the snapper on my setup and dialing it back with the controller is nicer than valving a pump down, plus the noise reduction is a bonus as the setup is in my living room.

A 12000 flow is closer to a dart then a snapper. In fact about the snapper is about 2/3 the flow of the others.

You can measure the amps with a multi meter but for current you need either a current clamp that you put on the hot wire or inline with the hot. So you need to make up an adapter plug to do either safely.

Yes, That's what I meant... Though I didn't even put together that you have 4 return pumps...  Holy crap. 

Just a warning - current draw on a pump is a function of head pressure and flow... Current draw on your tank might be different than current draw on someone else's due to pumping height, piping and outlet style.
