Hi,

***I submit this post fully realizing that I am probably setting myself up for some size matters jokes.***

I have two false percs that I got in March last year.  So far it looks like they haven't grown at all.  One is an inch and the other is an inch and a half.

Is it possible that they haven't decided sex yet?  I've seen false percs in other tanks 2-4 times the size of mine.  Could there be something stunting their growth?

Clowns won't usually get huge if there not in a huge tank. They could still be figuring out who's who also.  The other clown your seeing that are bigger are probably older and on bigger tanks.

I realize my tank is much smaller but my two clowns I have had for a few years now and I swear they havent grow at all.
I picked one small guy and one big guy because this is what I was told to do if I want a male and female..... Now they are in love :)

They seem to be paired - they never leave each other, but the larger one is still about half the size of yours.

I have a 220 gallon tank and only 4 other fish in it.

I have two Picasso that haven't grown much, I also have a pair of blacker ice I picked up at the same time as the Picasso and the black ice are twice the size as the Picasso pair. Both pairs were all the same size when I brought home.

If they are getting along then I wouldn't really worry about it.....have you started seeing any eggs? My have eggs all the time but naturally none make it....and man is my female aggressive towards me now, especially when she feels the need to protect their niche.

No eggs or anything yet.  They spend most of their time in the corner by the overflow.  Eggs would at least let me know that they have differentiated.

I have seen clowns in a few other people's larger tanks and they still look about the same size as mine.....
I'd just be happy they are getting along together....if they get along then eventually one should become male and one female.

I doubt that my tank size has anything to do with it.  If so, my clowns would be bigger than most.

I wasn't being specific about your fish. I mean for any fish in a small tank they won't grow the max size. Again not talkin about your clowns

I purchase two B&W from BA London after Xmas, They were in the same tank and swimming together and ever since introducing them to the tank, they haven't left each other. They are both the same size, I'd say small 1 1/2. They are sweet. Great addition

I too bought a small black percula clown and a small orange percula and my black one hasn't grown at all and they have seemed to have paired up with the orange one being a bit bigger being more aggresive so I figured it was the female. I them bought a Picasso and the orange one instantly attacked the much larger Picasso. So it spent a week in my sump. Upon putting back in my display it now seems as though the Picasso is the female and the 2 original perculas are submissive to the Picasso. But they don't seem to have grown at all.
