Clean tank

Is there such thing as a clean tank as like no nitrates phosphates ect I lost my clam this week and my water is clean all my numbers are low and I know some corals need water with some phospates to feed off please help thinking of less water changes

How long have you had the clam for? Did you check the shell for pests?
