Put it in fresh rodi water, chane out water in container few times a week, test for po4 and when you see po4 levels down to zero your good. Give the rocks a good scrub  with a toothbrush a few times while it's sitting in the rodi water.

I would just scrub and rinse. Most of the stuff off that rock will fall right off.

Not true, if the rock was  live at one time and is now dead it will be full of po4, scrubbing and rinsing will only remove what you scrubbed off. The rock would still leach whatever is inside the pourouse holes, hence letting it sit in fresh rodi water to rinse it ALL out.

Ahh, sorry Jerry, I misunderstood.... ya that would be a good plan scrub it off before your initial first rinse and just to be safe I would scrub it every time you replace the water in the bucket or whatever you have it in.
