So the bubble magus nac7 wouldn't be overkill ?
Has anyone ran this skimmer ? It uses the Chinese atman2500 pump.

So with my budget here are my options for used skimmers.
They are all used and in order from lowest to highest price:
Reef Octopus NWB-150 (nice but footprint is large)
Vertex IN-80 (large footprint as well)
SCA-302 (eBay skimmer uses atman 2000 pump same as bubble magus)
Bubble magus nac7

What does everyone think. This will be on a roughly 60g setup
Thanks

I did that in your site but the footprint on that skimmer is massive.

NAC uses the Atman 2500 if I remember correctly. Same pump as the Swc 150 and 160.

Great skimmer and relatively quiet.

Well since I'm trying to stay on some what of a budget with my new build and I couldn't find a used skimmer locally with the right footprint at my price point. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and order the SCA-302 skimmer off eBay tonight. It runs the atman 2000 pump which most skimmers in that class run. It's basically a knockoff of the bubble magus nac6. I just read almost all of the 57 page review on RC and people are really happy with these skimmers. I contacted the seller and there's a 30day money back guarantee, minus the 25$ to ship it back to them. Hope the old you get what you pay for saying doesn't apply.

Ok so I didn't pull the trigger on the eBay skimmer and it now looks like I may pull the trigger on a used bubble magus nac7. Some people think this skimmer will be overkill on a 45g cube with 20g sump. The skimmer is rated for 130g I will only have 60ish gallons of water. Will I be able to keep a good foam head with this skimmer ?

What's your total water volume and skimmer rating ?

45-50 gallons.

It moves the same amount of air as the atman 2500 and sicce 600  so it has the same rating as any skimmer running those pumps. The one thing I can tell you is the bubbles are much finner with my pump pin wheel combo vs. The Atman. Also a lot less turbulence in the column.
