Just curious to see if any other reefers are using this product? I've been using them for the last year and they are doing a great job at keeping my Phos under control (Not so good at keeping my NO3 under control) but I have noticed that I'm not getting the color on my SPS that I once had. I still get growth but just lacking the colors that they should have.

When I originally got the Blue Tort from you Steve it was a bit browned out. Since then it has become royal blue. However, Im not getting very much polyp extension. My params are optimal with 5 nitrates ppm and 0 phosphate. Im using Aqua Illumination Hydra 26. What are your nitrates at the moment?

I have used the bacter balls previously but found no real difference compared to my old maintenance schedule methods. I have previously used various carbon dosing, No Pox and biopellets.

Torx tried them in the past. Idk if hes still using them currently.

Yeah I had the same issues. Colours dropped off and seemed like some corals hated it,,,, I did randomly loose a few almost right after I started using them,,,,

I did not notice any of those issues on anything. My only issue was that they did not lower my nitrates and phosephates low enough. I ended up needing to use HC GFO again, so I just went back to that and pellets.

To clarify, they did hold my nitrates and phosphates steady, they just were not as low as I wanted them to be. Both were higher without running them, so they do work, but were not as effective as biopellets and HC GFO in my tank. If my demands were lower, or my tank was smaller, I would have stuck with them. They were convenient and easy to use. I made a mesh basket out of the same stuff many of us make the biopellet filter out of so the old ones were easy to remove and replace with new.
