Anyone have any experience with the above?

I've been killing myself researching ATO...  I get a lot of feedback that Tunze is the only way to go..
I feel like I'm cheap'ing out any other way...  But you know..  Rather save money for something easy cooler then an ATO.

Never had any issues.  I have used both the single switch and double switch.  I can't see myself ever buying anything else.  I use a small maxi jet with it.

which Tunze do you have??  3155??  or the Nano.
I;ve looked at both, and the 3155 has the double layer of protection , the Nano version does not...

That being said,  had I not acquired these in package purchases I likely would have went with the tunze or the new hydor one.

Even with shipping to my Detroit Mailbox....  $250 CDN.
that's pricey imo.
That's why i was researching other options.
However, if its the best and the only way to go....well then so be it...

5 gallon pail, gravity and a $0.99 float valve (including shipping) from ebay. 2 years now. Never had an issue

And it is actually in my storage room, thread through the ceiling, across the attic, then back down into my sump under the tank. :D

I'm with Torx, We really cheaped out LOL I've got a 20 GL Acrylic tank and it gravity feeds to a float valve in my sump, never had an issue. Mine sits in a wall unit next to my tank.

Looks like a decent unit, relay is a plus, cords are a bit short. You can also run it with a timer so it can only run for a few minutes a couple times a day.

I think i will give this a try...
Not a lot of reviews, but the concept is solid!!!

I will also keep a smaller reservoir so any failures can't result in catastrophe.
I am mostly worried about when i travel...which is only a few times a year...
I want the whole thing to be easy for whomever will be reef-sitting for me!!!

I have the jbj
, 'cheap' as in 75$ or so
But it's been giving me issues the past couple weeks, might just go to the gravity fed, pretty fool proof and cheap to setup
