Now that I upgraded my tank from 12" wide to a 18". Is there a benefit to upgrade my light from a quad to a 6 bulb T5?

There's always benefits to adding more light.
You may have to raise your lights higher to get full coverage over a 18" wide tank now. So that will lower intensity of your T5's
What kind of corals are you keeping or planning on keeping in your system?
