OK guys looking for some advice.I baught some used live rock to start a system up. The system has been running about 4 months. I am running GFO,Carbon, Purigen, the live rock. I am fighting green algae. It was really bad at first and has settled down. But I cant seem to keep the rocks clean. Do you think its the new tank thing, or are these rocks just bleeding Phosphate like made. All tests are great, and phosphate actually shows .02 or less.
I will be setting up a 120 gallon system soon, but don't really want to use this crappy rock if its not going to get better. I might just buy dry rock and start from scratch. Maybe use a bit of this to seed it.
This rock is in a soon to be Frag only tank.
Confused, and looking for advice.

Ohh lighting is T5 and blue reefbrite. T5 are actinic, 2 blue plus, purple and 2 coral plus. Water change every week.

Thank

sounds like leaching to me, if you keep the po4 down eventually it will leach out, what are you using for water storage?

I use 2 cups over 2 months on my 120 mixed reef and I am at 0 always. Just tested last night. I still get glass algae and a little hair here and then. There are more factors then just phosphates.

How long are the lights on and how old are the bulbs? Hieght above the water line etc etc.

Good info. Shouldn't be much of an issue there. Not sure what the recommended would be for a shallow/frag tank, but should be good.
