Airline hose

So I was playing with my dosing pump today and it is all finally programmed and I am testing it over the next day with just plain water to make sure I have programmed it correctly (the instructions were less than useless)

I then start to plug everything in, and *poof* the extra airline hose that I bought is too big! I got some spare hose and it is too large?? Are there different diameter airline hoses? I thought all aquarium stuff was standardized???

ARGH, So I have jerry rigged it for now which will be fine for overnight testing purposes, but as per a more permenant solution, where can I get some of this smaller diameter airline hose?

The one on the left is what I need for my Kamoer unit, the one on the right is the stuff you can buy at any fish store. (I tried other pieces of airline hose I had lying around and they were all too big as well)

The left measured out at an ID of about 1/8th of an inch where the right was just a hair larger.

Oddly enough the smaller tubing can be worked INTO the larger one. The difference in size plus the flexibility allows me to shove it in. Which is how I jerry rigged it for tonight. I will need a more permanent solution though... Where can this crap be found!??!?

I have a bunch of small diameter airline that was for a medical application originally.  I'll measure it and see if it is  around 1/8 id.  If so you are welcome to have some.

I think my BRS dosers use the 1/4" tubing, so it definitely is the channel dosers that use the smaller tubing.

I was at lowes yesterday, tons of hose there.  I think they have the smaller stuff you are looking for but it's white (and I think it fits the slip connectors). Worth a look there anyway.  Didn't the dosers come with a fair bit of line?

I bet it doesn't matter, the metering is in the dosing head and the soft hose in there. My doser came with standard air line like the bigger stuff in your photo

Only came with 10 feet or so, not enough to set up all three pumps.

That would only leave me with a little over a foot and a half per section.

I found the stuff that I have "down in the archives", it is approx 1/8" id medical grade standard oxygen supply line. If you want to give it a try, PM me and I can drop it by at some point.

...And if you're afraid that taking it will turn you into some sort of "Reef Scavenger", you're welcome to pay me LARGE for it.  ;)
