1. Nudibranch, these are known aptasia eaters, but die after they clean your tank of aptasia. They don't seem to eat anything else.

2. Copperband Butterfly fish; these can be hit or miss when it comes to aptasia, but even if they do eat it, they are very finicky eaters and can't compete for food in an aggressive tank and often starve to death on their own. Some people have converted them to eating mysis but other have failed. They also don't eat really big aptasia's (from what I have read and heard from others)

I got super lucky I guess and got one that eats the aptasia and it cleared my tank of every single trace, but unfortunately I couldn't get him to eat regular food and not that long after he served his duties, he passed away.

I came across 1 on a frag I bought. Someone on here said they used boiling water in a syringe and posted a video. what the hell I said and tried his method.  Actually worked I gave it 3 doses of boiling water and then sucked it up into the syringe and threw it away.

Thanks for the great tip whoever it was, feeling lazy and don't wanna search it out lol.  Perhaps they will chime in,

I had a bunch of apstisia and they just seem to multiply. Not a big fan of putting meds in a system that I barely understand already. Purchased an electric apstasia killer from ebay.  Works amazing. Doesn't harm any surrounding corals. The fish like to watch . Had my hands in the tank with no shock. Check it out on youtube. Around 100$ plus the ride is more than the other options, but this works instantly. I have paid more for less. My 2 cents.

Reading up on that electric apstasia zapper...sounds promising. Might be a good investment.  Still fighting an ap break out and getting tired of ap-x

That's how I've done it for years.  Always effective and doesn't make them spread.  Just be careful you don't burn yourself.

I know there are others that do it this way here.

I guess it depends if it is in the middle of a zoa field....

The one that I boiled was at the base of an acro and I used 1/4 " hose attached to a 10 mm syringe. got real close and slowly blasted it. I was worried it would retract but it didnt. second 10 mm of boiling water finished it off and then I sucked it into the syringe and down the sink.  I have another one in a different spot that I have been meaning to kill but I am dealing with red bug right now so my hands are full.

Good luck

The berghia nudis certainly do work.  They are not cheap, but worth it in my opinion, they just slowly go about their business and the aptasia disappear one by one.

I've killed a few in my day.... Lol
I've always used something in a syringe because I've never had that many.... I've noticed 3 pop up and think I am going to try Kalk pasting them and then putty and glue over top....
A few years ago I used lemon juice in a syringe with success.... Again, though I must stress I wasn't growing a field of them either....

Nudibranch, but you have to get two, I bought two they laid eggs the first week and they never entirely die off, Once you have them they'll rid your tank of the pest, The other way is take the rock out and drill it with a drill, rinse it off in Saltwater and done, Make sure you are buying the Bergia nudibranch, cause their are hundreds of nudibranchs.
