would not recommend them or hydras and vegas if u want sps long term. there's something off with the AI lights, gotta spend some big bucks on a radion or vertex maybe, from what ive now seen the best led results are coming from a diy setup, which isn't cheap to do right IMO and the radions

Jordan Hurst also has an amazing sps tank that really took off when he ditched his t5s for ai sols, color and growth looked amazing last time I saw it.

With my Hydro's I have found a couple pieces of SPS that has started to color up nicely that I had written off as lost causes. the last 2 updates made a big difference with my lights

Like Petercar mentioned we both have the Orphek Atlantik. I have one over my 90 gallon. The one thing I really like about the Orphek Atlantik is that there isn't a disco effect on my sandbed or rock. Yes I get the awesome shimmer effect but you cannot see the few red LEDs on the rock or sandbed like you do with other LEDs. The new orphek Atlantik V2 offers dual chips as well so under each optic you would have 2 LEDs instead of just the one and like Petercar was saying it is programmable from any Android devise. We can purchase and easily install the upgrade for ours but I am a Mac guy so would be pointless at this point. Now when I go with my bigger build I will again go Orphek Atlantik's V2 and utilize the android as I believe you can also buy a tablet from them relatively cheap. As for SPS I was having awesome results until I had a heater malfunction that raised the temp way too much in the 8 hrs while at work and ended up loosing my sps. I know the Atlantik's are pricey but weight out bulb change alone. This is why I went Orphek as one pendant was enough for my 90 where ai or radions I needed at least 2. I also felt Orphek hit the colour spectrums needed for coral growth better. Check out this build I believe he is now using all Orpheks but I could be wrong

Oh forgot to mention if you are looking for LEDs that can simulate thunderstorms Orphek won't be for you as it won't do lightning. I personally wanted LEDs that where going to grow coral not impress friends that have no clue and think that is cool. Not bashing AI it's just my personal opinion. I really think that in the long run you would be happy with Orpheks products. I am now 9 months running my Atlantik and recommend it to everyone who can afford it an wants to make the switch to LEDs.

I bought 2 Chinese Evergrow D120 from Ocean Revive....
After much much reading...and visual confirmation from other reefers SPS dominated tank....  Lets just say...  I have enough money left over for gas for my Boat now  :p

I will post real results from these lights once i get them installed this weekend...

Seems LED lighting is a real HOT button issue....

How's the sandbed look under those LEDs? Everyone that I have seen in person over the last 6 yrs of my research you could definately see on the sandbed or rock work where the few red or green or orange LEDs were. This was not the look I wanted this is my reef tank and not a disco. I had read may people complaining about there AI Vega Color having a disco ball effect and after seein in person I seen right away what they where talking about. I am not saying they won't grow coral but I think you will see why I am talking about once you get them installed. I also don't have a boat to worry about puttin gas in. It's in the eye of the owner of whose reef tank which LEDs they feel will work best for them. Orphek was my choice after 5 yrs of research. I feel LEDs are something that one should take there time an research and get what they feel is going to work for there reef tank.

I'll agree that MH is the best. not the best in energy use or bulb replacement or heat issues but certainly for Coral growth, 2 400 MH over a 200 gallon tank works for me.

You're right, Some people have bought LED systems only to go back to T-5s, Some say yes and some nay on the exact same light. I've looked at so many options that I don't know. Like the AI Sol system that is 750 bucks only to find out that it's an older light.. I ordered a Maxspect Razor, I've had one before but looks like I better keep my T-5s for awhile just in case LOL
