hey all. I'm starting to look at controllers for my 150g reef. I currently have radions, so they have their own timers.

I don't use kalk yet and manually dose 2 part.

I'd like to have control over my heaters and have a ph probe.

I would also like it to be upgrade able for my future larger system.

I'm clueless on this product and need advice.

Really depends how much you wanted control. Like access from pc, smartphone or just with the head unit.

If you want more accessibility. Then go with a apex.

If you want basic and cost is an issue. Go with the reef keeper

I was in the exact same place as you 2 years ago... I knew nothing--still dont-- BUT, I can say that after having had bought a used reefkeeper and then dumping it for an APEX. 100% I would recommend apex all the way.

the amount of things that you can automate is really kinda crazy so any automation is better than none but, really Apex seems to be a step above the neptune product.

I bought a Reef Keeper and was totally confused by it, I'd get the Apex next time. And if you can, Don't cheap out on it. I'd buy new as well and get the warranty with proper instructions. There is a Forum here on TFT to help you as well as many members who are up on the Apex. The options are endless.
