4 Or 6 Bulb Over 48x30x8 Frag Tank

Like the title says.
Was just about to order a 6 but thinking maybe 4 is enough.

Its a Sun Blaze fixture. I have read good reviews, they have a decent reflector. But might be a little less output than say an ATI. But the tank is only 8 inches deep. I also don't mind some lower light spots around the edges for softies and zoas.

Also with he 4 bulb. Would probably add one reef brite Led strip. For a little extra pop and to come on before and stay on after the T5 bulbs. Kinda a sunrise set type thing.

48x30...definitely go 6. 4 would be enough, but is enough really enough? I ran a 6 on my 48x24 and liked the color and leaves more bulb combo options.

I suppose I can always leave a bulb or two out if I had too. Its only 40 bucks more for the 6 bulb.
Thing is, with it only being 8 inches The light will be pretty high over the tank. Would probably spill a lot of light with the 6.
Hmm now I am confusing my self. LOL

2 x coral plus
1 x blue plus

I guess that matters on your over all look you want. Seems that you covered the spectrum nicely. Maybe replace one of the B+ for a Purple +. But you got it either way

ya, i took a blue out and put a purple in. Sounds like a good idea.
Ordered them. I wanted slightly blue but not too dark.
Hopefully thats what i get. I also wanted best for coral growth.
