I'm starting a new cube 18/18/18. I want to have that wow effect and something a bit different that what everyone else has. This tank is still dry so my path is not chosen I am curious about a dwarf lion fish like a fu Manchu or dwarf fuzzy. If I put one of them am I stuck with no other fish? What about other predator fish like toad or rock fish or something of the sort? Are there triggers that would work or do they all need big long tanks? Any other suggestions or leads? Only thing I know for sure is im running barebottom on this tank so no pistol/goby pair

Unfortunately all those fish you just mentioned are not for your size tank... if your looking for predator fish you need a much bigger tank. Your very limited on your fish types... if you have different fish in mind give Google a try...there are lots of smaller species of fish that where meant for a small set up...

I was under the impression that a fu Manchu was a nano sized fish from the live aquaria site while I WAS googling fish options
I guess I missed that one... the fu Manchu lion fish will be ok for sure but not so for the others.

Normally if you do any species of predator you're limited to only having other preds...unless the fish is a lot larger. However in your case you only have 25 gallons to work with. Dwarf fuzzy and fuman chu are the only dwarf lions I would do, the other species can get a little larger. Toadfish can get fairly large, but frogfish you could do. I would stay away from triggers. Adult clowns, gobies, hawkfish and wrasses could potentially work.
