so, the pony tank has been running now for a few months and my original plan was to add a sandsifting star fish to clean the poop out of the substrate... I was told to wait until there was a food source build up before adding him... wondering if I can add it how...

Havnt you had your pony tank goin for a while? Maybe over feed a wee bit once a week so he's got some food to sift for?

yes, its been running for a bit and I do tend to over feed, no one goes hungry in this house...lol...between dog food, cat food and fish food its almost double what I spend on my own food...
