Green Stick... Algae?

Hi guys, I snagged this pic online but it has the same green sticks on the left hand side that are in my tank - maybe 10-15 of them. Just wondering what they are and if I should get rid of or keep? Thanks!

Best I can come up with is a type of Codium algae???

I had a couple of these growing in my RSM130 but they shrivelled up and vanished when I changed my phosphate media bag, I guess it was overdue!
