Loosing Tissue

Well I have been having some trouble with my corals not all lost candy cane one torch the heads just fall off I was battling hight nitrates 40ppm just finally got them down to 10 ppm feed twice a week in cut back do to high nitrates

MG 1470
Nitrates 10
Ammonia .025

Maxspec led whites 55% blues 60%
Flow is set on w2 rwj power head

Mag is a little high nothing too extreme tho, i would still try to bring it down a bit somehow. same with ca, but still nothing extreme. Whats your P04 like?

I wonder if to much flow I turned it down to custom setting

Yeah lps dont like alot of flow.. theyre for the most part a medium-low flow type. Too much flow can def cause lps to have there tissue separate from there skelton.

Have you checked for a predator like flatworms? I suggest you dip one of the pieces that is dying.

I will try this I have a felling maybe was to much flow for them I was watching my chalice last night after lights went out and noticed the tentacles waving pretty good so turn it down a little where they just move a little not like a big storm

Do you notice a brown slim on the fleshy parts?

No I don't notice that at all

So far we are good I think it was the flow coral look so happy and plump

My coral look amazing and just added a yellow tang yesterday going to let things sit for few weeks and hope to add some more frags to it

Yes it was flow thank goodness I found that problem
