Purple Tang

Hey everyone. Got a problem with my purple tang...he got a lump on his head a few days a go and I'm not sure what it is...i wasn't able to get a good pic. All other fish are healthy and see fine. The only thing I can think of is it got into a fight with my magnificent foxface and got stung. Any other ideas or help would be appreciated!

i am not familiar with diseases, but i know there are disease charts out there were you can cross reference etc.
let me know what you find.

hard to tell could be from rubbing against rock or a fight unless it swell or gets red or bigger should go away

Its going away very slowly and none of the tank mates show any signs... very strange

could of tried fitting through a tight space and hit the rock a bit

looks like a fungus or bacterial infection - but hard to tell by the photo.
Does it look like a cotton ball or spongy?

Hard to say from the picture. Keep an eye on him. If he was fighting or scratched himself on a rock it will get better soon.

I really dont know what happened...its on both sides of the top fin...since its on both sides im thinking its not a war wound and maybe a bacterial infection...i really have no clue...at least all of the cheap fish in the tank are healthy haha

Send him to scubasteve. He fixed up the tang i had that had a 'mystery disease'. Just make sure you tell him he doesn't get to keep it after it's fixed

Look up Uronema Marinum and chlamydia infections
